Engine Exhaust Silencer
Engineered noise control solutions for engine exhausts — designed, manufactured, and installed by ARK Noise Control (India)
Why Engine Exhaust Noise Needs Control
Internal combustion engines produce exhaust noise levels of 100-130 dB(A) from combustion pressure pulses, exhaust valve opening events, and turbulent gas flow. The exhaust noise spectrum contains strong low-frequency fundamentals from the firing frequency and higher-order harmonics. Without silencing, engine exhaust noise dominates the overall noise footprint of any generator set, pump set, or compressor driven by an IC engine.

How ARK Solves Engine Exhaust Noise
ARK manufactures engine exhaust silencers in three performance grades — Industrial (20-25 dB(A)), Residential (25-35 dB(A)), and Hospital/Critical (35-45 dB(A)). Each grade uses progressively more reactive chambers and absorptive sections. Silencers are designed for the specific engine model, exhaust gas flow rate, temperature, and maximum allowable backpressure to ensure optimal performance without affecting engine output.
Key Benefits
- Three performance grades: Industrial, Residential, and Hospital/Critical
- Noise reduction of 25 to 40+ dB(A) depending on grade selected
- Low backpressure design within engine manufacturer limits
- Spark arrestor integration available for hazardous area installations
- Stainless steel construction for high-temperature and corrosive exhaust
- Suitable for diesel, gas, dual-fuel, and biogas engine applications
