Safety Valve Silencer
Engineered noise control solutions for safety valves — designed, manufactured, and installed by ARK Noise Control (India)
Why Safety Valve Noise Needs Control
Safety valve discharge generates extreme noise levels of 120-140+ dB(A) when the valve lifts to relieve excess pressure. The noise is caused by supersonic gas/steam jets exiting the valve outlet. Since safety valves must operate instantly and reliably, any silencer must not interfere with valve set pressure or flow capacity.

How ARK Solves Safety Valve Noise
ARK safety valve silencers are designed with zero backpressure influence on the valve set point. The silencer is installed downstream of the safety valve on the discharge piping, using multi-stage diffuser and absorptive elements to reduce noise. The design is verified to ensure no change in valve popping pressure, blowdown, or flow capacity.
Key Benefits
- Noise reduction of 30 to 40 dB(A)
- Zero influence on safety valve set pressure and capacity
- Multi-stage diffuser for progressive noise reduction
- Designed per ASME Section VIII and API 520/521
- Self-draining to prevent liquid buildup
- Field-proven reliability across 1500+ installations
