ARK Noise Control - India has a perfect blend of Experienced & Qualified experts in the field of Acoustical Engineering & Thermal Engineering. We use state-of-the-art software, along with our proprietary computer programs & algorithms to solve Acoustical Prediction, Noise Mapping and Mitigations suggestion problems.

Presently, we provide consultancy services in the following areas :

I. Noise Mapping Analysis for the entire Project at the Pre-Engineering stage

II. Front End Engineering Design (FEED) Study at Engineering stage to suggest Acoustic Mitigations for entire project layout

III. Noise & Vibrations Measurement (With FFT Analysis i.e. Frequency Spectrum Analysis)

IV. Steam Tracing Design Consultancy (For Pumps, Pipelines, other equipment)

VI. Thermal Insulation Technical Specifications Design Consultancy

VII. Thermal Imaging Camera & Infrared Thermal Measurement

With all relevant pre-engineering consultancy as well as post-implementation measurements required for Oil & Gas, Power Sector, Chemical Sector and Refineries Projects available at one stop, ARK Noise Control - India offers a very convenient solution for EPC (Engineering Procurement Contracting) companies as well as PMC (Project Management Consulting) companies.

NOISE MAPPING ANALYSIS

ARK offers Noise Mapping Analysis with the prediction of results as per Project’s local environmental norms. At beginning of a project engineering stage, it is difficult to predict whether or not as a result of 1000s of machinery at the project site, the Noise levels at the project boundary would conform to the local environmental standards or not. Also, it is difficult to predict if the noise levels in working areas would be safe for people to work for 8 hours near noisy machinery.

Noise Mapping analysis helps achieve both these tasks accurately.

  • Colored Noise Map with SPL distribution

  • Project Boundary Noise levels (Leq Day / Leq Night Prediction)

  • Identification of primary noisy machinery

Noise mapping analysis helps us prioritize which areas / machinery of the project are to be given priority to achieve lower overall noise levels as per OHSAS 18001 or as per Project's local environmental norms.

FRONT END ENGINEERING DESIGN STUDY (FEED)

After the Noise mapping Analysis identifies all the high-noise machinery and high noise areas, mitigations are needed to bring down the noise levels of machinery which can be as below :

  • Acoustic Enclosures (for Pumps / Compressors / Presses / Engines / Turbines etc.)

  • Silencers (for pressurised Air/Steam/Gas)

  • Removable Acoustical Jackets (for Pumps / Compressors / Turbines)

  • Noise Barriers for Project Boundary

At Pre-engineering stage itself, ARK can identify and provide technical requirements of mitigations required for each machinery as a part of Front End Engineering Design Study.

After completion of the project, the achievement of results as per Noise Mapping Analysis and FEEED Study can be verified with our Noise & Vibrations Measurement services.

NOISE MEASUREMENT

ARK offers extensive Sound measurement capabilities with all high-end instruments available in-house with ARK to measure the following parameters :

  • Sound Pressure Level Measurement (dBA)

  • Frequency Spectrum Analysis (FFT Analysis)

  • Transmission Loss Measurement (Walls / Windows)

  • Reverberation Time Measurement (For any rooms)

  • Environmental Noise Monitoring (Leq Day / Leq Night)

All measurements are carried out on Frequency Calibrated Microphone imported from USA to ensure the most accurate measurements throughout the frequency range.

Microphone Calibrator is available in-house and Microphone Calibration is done prior to every measurement to ensure the most accurate measurements as per IEC 61672 Class 2.

VIBRATIONS MEASUREMENT

ARK offers Vibrations measurements for Machinery, Construction Activity, Vibrations monitoring for Environmental Impact ASsessment, with FFT Analysis (Frequency Spectrum).

  • Peak Particle Velocity of Vibrations (mm/sec)

  • Acceleration (mm/sec2)

  • Displacement of Vibrations (mm)

Along with measurement of Vibrations, ARK also offers consultancy to reduce the transfer of vibrations from the machinery to the surroundings by suggesting appropriate vibrations isolation treatment.

STEAM TRACING DESIGN CONSULTANCY

Heat tracing is used to prevent heat loss from process fluids being transported in process fluid pipes or equipment, when there is risk of damage to piping, or interference with operation such as fouling or blockage, caused by congealing of fluid, increase in viscosity, or separation of components in the fluid below certain temperatures.

It is also beneficial, when there is risk of formation of corrosive substances or water due to condensation in corrosive services. This prevention of heat loss is accomplished by employing electrical tracing, or steam tracing, and insulating both the process fluid pipe and the tracer together, using appropriate insulation lagging, in an attempt to minimize heat loss from the pipe and tracer to their surroundings.

Our expertise lies in providing the complete design consultancy for Steam Tracing.

| Pump
| Process Equipment

THERMAL INSULATION DESIGN CONSULTANCY

Heat loss through any system, equipment, pipeline especially in Power Plants, Process Plants, Chemical Plants, Refineries, etc. is an expense to the user, since additional fuel has to be burned in order to compensate for the lost heat. The energy lost to the atmosphere through heat transfer cannot be recovered easily and hence, adds inefficiency to the system. The purpose of providing thermal insulation to the system, equipment or pipeline is to minimize the heat loss, improve efficiency and ultimately, save on operating costs. This factor is known as ‘heat conservation’.

Another important factor to be considered during set up of any plant is the safety of personnel working in the plant. When there is a possibility of any human working in the vicinity of any hot surface above 60 deg. C, thermal insulation should be provided for ‘personnel protection’, so that chances of injury / burn by touching hot surface is avoided or minimized.

Both of these factors are considered while designing the thermal insulation specifications related to this project.

ARK offers consultancy for deciding optimum specifications (Type, Material, Thickness) for Thermal Insulation, as per project requirements.

Applications:

| Power Plants
| Oil & Gas Refineries
| Process Plants

| Cement Plants
| Industrial Plants
