Duct Silencer for Fan Noise
Engineered noise control solutions for fan / ahus — designed, manufactured, and installed by ARK Noise Control (India)
Why Fan / AHU Noise Needs Control
Industrial fans and AHUs generate noise levels of 85-110 dB(A) that propagates through ductwork to occupied spaces, equipment areas, and the atmosphere. Fan noise contains both broadband aerodynamic noise and tonal blade-pass frequency noise. Without duct silencers, fan noise transmitted through supply and return ducts can exceed comfortable levels in offices, control rooms, and adjacent work areas.

How ARK Solves Fan / AHU Noise
ARK manufactures rectangular and circular duct silencers (attenuators) that are installed inline in the ductwork to attenuate fan noise before it reaches occupied spaces or the atmosphere. Our silencers use parallel splitter baffles with absorptive cores and perforated face sheets. The baffle thickness, spacing, and length are engineered to target the dominant fan noise frequencies while maintaining pressure drop within the fan's available static pressure margin.
Key Benefits
- Noise reduction of 15 to 35 dB(A) depending on silencer length and configuration
- Low pressure drop to maximise fan efficiency and airflow capacity
- Rectangular and circular configurations to match duct dimensions
- Splitter baffle spacing tuned to target dominant fan noise frequencies
- Erosion-resistant face sheets for high-velocity industrial fan applications
- Available with acoustic lagging on outer casing for additional breakout noise control
