Noise Barrier for Chillers
Engineered noise control solutions for chillers — designed, manufactured, and installed by ARK Noise Control (India)
Why Chiller Noise Needs Control
Air-cooled chillers generate noise levels of 80-95 dB(A) from compressor operation and condenser fan noise. When installed on rooftops or at grade near property boundaries, chiller noise frequently exceeds CPCB/local noise standards at the nearest receiver — particularly at night when ambient noise is lower and limits are stricter. Multiple chillers in a chiller plant compound the problem with cumulative noise levels.

How ARK Solves Chiller Noise
ARK provides acoustic noise barriers purpose-designed for chiller installations. Our barriers use absorptive-faced panels that both block direct noise propagation and absorb reflected sound, preventing reverberant build-up between barriers and equipment. The barrier height, length, and layout are engineered using acoustic modelling to achieve the required noise reduction at the specific receiver locations. For severe cases, partial enclosures or three-sided barriers with an open top are used.
Key Benefits
- Noise reduction of 10 to 20 dB(A) at the property boundary or receiver
- Absorptive-faced panels prevent reverberant noise build-up
- Barrier layout optimised using acoustic modelling for specific site geometry
- Does not restrict chiller airflow or reduce cooling capacity
- Modular panel system for rapid installation and future reconfiguration
- Weather-resistant construction for outdoor rooftop and at-grade installations
